The Performance Field for the First Ever Catalina Air Show!  Views will probably be the best either at the VIP Seating at Castillo del Mar (Home of Blanny Avalon Hagenah, great-granddaughter of William Wrigley, Jr.), on Descanso Beach or on the roads above Avalon & Hamilton Cove.

Fly & Camp

There are still reservations available for camping underwing at the Airport in the Sky (as of 9/22/12).  Please call the Tower directly to make reservations (310) 510-0143. 

 

Static Display Day - Sunday!

Visit the Airport in the Sky on Sunday to view some of the amazing planes that flew in the Air Show.  The Wildlands Express will be offering a special discounted price of $20 per person round-trip, as long as the round trip originates in Avalon.  Call (310) 510-0143 for details and to make reservations.

 

Special Air Show Menus

Saturday Morning

We will be offering a plated quick service breakfast for $10 per person - this is an early bird special.  Please arrive early to ensure a good place to park your plane and to secure shuttle service into Avalon to see the Air Show.  We will be open at 7AM to accomodate campers and the runway will be open at 8AM. 

 

                                                         

Saturday Evening

We will be open until 8pm in the gift shop and will have the grill available for camper use on the patio (the kitchen will be closed at the traditional time of 6pm).  We will have items available for purchase that you can cook on your own or you can bring your own food to grill.  Below is the menu for items for purchase.  The burgers include the patty, bun or sourdough bread, lettuce, tomato, and condiments.  The dogs include the hot dog and bun plus condiments. 

                                                         

For Guests that choose to cook their own food there is a service charge of $7 per plane and $2 per additional person on board (for example, if you have a total of 3 people you are coooking for, the total cost to use the grill would be $11 - $7 for the plane/pilot and $2 for each of the other two people).  All Guests will be able to purchase sides, drinks, sweets and beer & wine. 

 

Sunday Morning

We will start the day with a light breakfast to get the day going.  The special breakfast menu will be available from opening until 10 AM.  Susie is making her fabulous homemade cinnamon rolls fresh!  This can't be missed!  We will start serving our regular lunch menu at 10am.

 

                                                                                          

Getting to Static Display Day

For those of you wishing to visit the Airport in the Sky on Sunday, the Wildlands Express will be offering a special rate of $20 round-trip for all Guests originating from Avalon.  This will be a great way to spend a (hopefully) sunny Sunday out in the interior, among a lot of great people and planes.  Hope to see you up here!
